Langtang region is the closest trekking region from Kathmandu and offer unmatched natural wonders. The trail is less crowded and provides one with the authentic experience of the Himalayas. Langtang valley trek, Helambu trek, Tamang heritage trek and Gosainkunda trek are the most famous treks in the region. It’s possible to combine either or all of these treks together to make the trekking longer and enjoy the most out of Langtang region. It is an ideal trekking region for those looking for a relatively short and easy trek with all the fun and experiences of the Himalayas.

The highest point in the Lagntang region is the Kyanjin Gompa (3,817 m) from where you can see the close up view of the Langtang mountain range. Walking further 2 hours to Kyanjin ri (4,773 m) can enhance the view even further. The prominent mountains that can be observed during Langtang region trekking are Langtang range, Ganesh Himal range and Manaslu range. The Himalayan range towards the north is jeweled by the Langtang Lirung (7,245 m).

The Langtang region was one of the most affected areas but the 2015 earthquake and had closed at the time. Reconstruction works are still undergoing and the region has opened for trekking and has been seeing more visitors than ever.

Langtang region is dominated by the ethnic group Tamang. Hence trekking in the langtang region you can observe the culture and lifestyle of the authentic Tamang communities. Besides the langtang region is very rich in its natural beauty with over 1000 species of plants and is the habitat to many rare animals and birds. Most part of the trail goes through the protected area of Langtang National park, the home and habitat of the wide variety of flora and fauna.

Syabrubesi and Dhunche serves as a gateway to Langtang region. Although few, there are teahouses and lodges throughout the trails in the Langtang region.
