About Everest Base camp Chola pass Trek - 15 Days

The Gokyo Cho La Pass Trek is a longer version of the Everest Base Camp Trek, and that's an overflowing journey that carries you across Nepal's challenging Himalayan paths. Together with the excitement of passing Chola Pass (5,300m), you'll be welcomed with the picturesque scenery of Mount Everest. In the Himalayas, you would also get the opportunities to study Sherpa culture, unique customs, and remarkable lifestyle.

Gokyo leads across the Cho La Pass, amongst the most significant challenges of the route, whereas this base camp is positioned on the principal EBC route. It's indeed, indeed, stunningly magnificent, with mountains like as Ama Dablam, Mt. Everest, Nuptse, and Gokyo Ri glittering in the backdrop.

Air travel to and from Lukla allows you to spend a lot of time as possible in the Himalayas. Acclimatization is important, that can be done at the iconic Namche Bazaar, following that you may take a short but hard hike to Syangboche for your first nearby view of Mount Everest, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, and then Thamserku.

You may also go to Khumjung Village and the Khumjung Hillary School, which was constructed by Sir Edmund Hillary to educate the Sherpa inhabitants. Meals and Accommodation

Generally, Trekkers are provided Nepalese and continental food with different tastes during your trekking days where you will be staying. And in case you are staying in a tent or camping trek then you will have a well-experienced chef who will serve you a different variety of food. Moving on to accommodation, you will be provided a single room with private facilities including an attached bathroom in Kathmandu. However, there might not be the same facilities that are available in Kathmandu. Basically, you will get twin rooms or multi share with basic shared toilet facilities. Remember, hot showers might not available everywhere: if it is available then you have to pay an extra charge for this.

Altitude Sickness

Our first focus is the safety and security of our guests. Therefore, we recommend you not to have this trek if you have a problem inhaling and exhaling. As we climb over 3500 m then there might be a chance of having altitude sickness during your trek. So, make sure you are physically and mentally fit before you start trekking in Everest. Here are some symptoms of altitude sickness:

  • Appetite loss, nausea, or vomiting
  • Weakness or exhaustion
  • Headaches or dizziness
  • Hands, foot, and face swelling
  • Insomnia
  • Exertion causes shortness of breath.
  • Nosebleed
  • Continual fast pulse
  • Tiredness
  • A feeling of dread

How to avoid altitude sickness?

As you walk higher, you might face numerous problems like headache, vomiting, fainting, nosebleed, and many more. During your trek, make sure to drink plenty of water as it can avoid some risk of altitude sickness. If you feel uneasy while hiking then doesn’t dare to continue your trek furthermore as it is very dangerous if you hike upward. Hike downhill as fast as you can to avoid altitude sickness.

Insurance

All guests who are heading on a holiday must-have travel insurance. It should give enough coverage for personal injuries, medical charges, evacuation charges, helicopter rescue, and luggage loss for the duration of the tour. Make sure your healthcare insurance supports you for elevations between 2500 and 6000 meters.
