About Lobuche Peak Climbing
Lobuche Peak (6,119 m / 20,075 ft) is one of the most popular climbing peaks in the Everest region and offers an excellent introduction to Himalayan mountaineering. This 16–17 day trekking and climbing expedition combines the adventure of high-altitude trekking with a moderate climb to the summit, passing through the spectacular landscapes of Sagarmatha National Park.
The trek begins with a thrilling flight to Lukla and continues through Sherpa villages like Phakding, Namche Bazaar, Tengboche, Dingboche, and Gorak Shep. Along the trail, climbers experience dense rhododendron forests, alpine meadows, glacial landscapes, and stunning panoramic views of the world’s highest peaks, including Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, and Ama Dablam.
The climb to Lobuche Peak involves trekking over moraines, using basic mountaineering techniques such as fixed ropes, crampons, and ice axes. This peak is graded as Alpine PD, making it suitable for climbers who want a challenging but non-technical peak to gain experience before attempting higher peaks like Island or Mera Peak.
