Besides being adventurous, fun and challenging trek, Everest Base Camp would push you body to its limits. Especially for those coming from the altitude that is few hundred meters from sea level, the altitude you would go to is frightening. But with the proper acclimatization days planned the risks of altitude sickness is very minimal.
We had no problem with that and we were surprised that we made it all the way to the Kalapatthar without a deteriorating health. The exhaustion was real and we slept really well during the trek. Hikers Haven had arranged everything perfectly from the staffs to other arrangements. The best part of the whole experience was having our guide whose expertise of the area and experience made the trip carefree for us.

We had an excellent time during the Everest Base Camp Trek that we did with Hikers Haven. The scenery and landscape during the trek was more than what we have expected. I cannot describe the feeling we got when we hiked to the Kalapatthar, it was such a mesmerizing felling.

Our guide Mr. Jit was really helpful, kind, honest, ever so charming. His efforts and passion for the job could be seen in everything he did. We could not have asked for a better companion and guide. The team as a whole is exceptionally passionate and dedicated to what they do which made everything from communicating with them to booking the trip to the successful accomplishment of the trip flawlessly amazing. Besides the weather was really good except and the flights were on time.

It was amidst the Dashain I arrived in this beautiful country for doing a planned trek. The city was quiet because of the festivals. What I didn’t see fore coming was that I went to Ganesh’s countryside home to observe the festival which was really a pleasant surprise. Returning back from the village, I did the Annapurna Base Camp trek, spent some time in the beautiful city of Pokhara. I was back to Kathamandu with some days to spare and it was yet another festival. Tihar or dipawali as everyone calls it. I did get offered to go to the village again and I was more than happy to do so given the former experience. I was extremely lucky to have been there during the Dashain and Tihar festivals, two of the biggest festivals celebrated in Nepal. It was an unforgettable time spent in this beautiful country. The hightlight of the trip was the festival and the environment it created all around. It made the trekking so special and the whole visit a surreal experience for me.
